A Visualiser in the Classroom

I personally think a visualiser is a great addition to any classroom especially if one is attached to an IWB. When connected to your whiteboard / projector it lets one show projects, art work, artefacts, extract from a book ,illustrations (the list is endless) to the whole class using the large screen display in your room. Let’s let Danny show us its uses.

ActiveInspire 1.2 is now available to download for free from the Promethean Website. You can use ActivInspire even if you have another brand of interactive whiteboard, or you don’t have a whiteboard at all.

Existng ActivInspire Users please note a ’Patch’ also available to upgrade to version 1.2. The easiest way to do this is to open your ActivInspire dashboard by selecting View>Dashboard-Configure-Check for Updates.

Wordle
Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, save them to the Wordle gallery take an image of them with your Smart,/Promethean/Ebeam etc.. camera and share them with your class.
