I wonder if you’d be able to help me out. I am helping a Gaelscoil in Clondalkin Dublin re the rolling out of Windows Netbooks. I’ll be configuring a “base build” from which the Netbooks will be cloned (30 units).
The Netbooks are for use in a Primary School, can you recommend software which would be useful in this setting and I can then preinstall.
Any help on this would dbe greatly appreciated.

Have replied to you by email. Will check out software been used in our school and get back to you. I usually use online tools and interactive websites myself . Kids use Clicker 5, Photo Story 3, Creative Writer ,Audacity and Primary Games on those days when we have poor or no internet access.
I think the 2Simple software is worth considering especially the 2Create a Superstory package http://www.2simple.com/

Many thanks for retweeting the fact that Mangahigh is now completely free for Irish schools.
We ran a special program with Irish Maths Week last year, and it was hugely successful – we had over 100 Irish schools register with Mangahigh in just a few days.
The majority of them were unable to upgrade to full access to the site (when we used to charge for it) because of restricted budgets, so we’re very keen to now spread the message around Irish teachers, that they now have full access to all of our resources.
So thank you for helping us get this message out on Twitter, and if you are able to help spread the message further, perhaps through your excellent blog, then we would be extremely grateful!
